The Conservative Government has cut income tax, frozen fuel duty, and increased the living wage. We have also increased health funding to a record level - an increase by a minimum of £8 billion in real terms over the next 5 years in addition to £10 billion in capital to upgrade buildings and facilities. This was possible because of the Government’s balanced approach, turning the massive deficit Labour left behind into a surplus in day-to-day state spending. Conservative governments invested hundreds of millions of pounds in Manchester’s infrastructure. These include Metrolink, Manchester Airport transformation, the Oxford Road Corridor, a world-class Proton Beam cancer therapy facility based at Christie Hospital, and the National Graphene Centre. The Conservatives also devolved power to Greater Manchester so that the city can re-invest the money it generates. In contrast, the Labour-led city council can’t even get basic tasks done such as fixing the potholes in our streets and getting the rubbish bins collected on time. That is why it is time for change in Manchester. Time to bring in a team that will listen to you and oppose the complacency of Labour. Vote Conservative on May 3rd!
